TRADIECONNECT June 2020
What’s on in 2020?
2020 has certainly become a very challenging year for everyone and we are collectively breathing a sigh of relief now that the world is starting to open up again. Fortunately for tradies in Australia, most have been able to keep operating and this has modified the effect financially for many in the industry.
Imex extends their sympathy to all that have lost their jobs at the same time we are very grateful that the government has been generous and strategic with stimulus int he last 2 months.
With a very low incidence of COVID deaths, a very robust, well funded and dedicated health system and good fiscal discipline on the part of the government;
We are indeed the lucky country.
Webinar Training Series
Like so many in almost every industry we have been looking at other ways of continue to support our customers during the lockdown and also after the pandemic. With our staff restricted from visiting stores and job sites we have devices new ways to work which will be carried forward into the future.
Lasers, being somewhat technical in their operation and function have sometimes been a bit daunting for both stores and tradies, so we have conducted a series of training webinars that demonstrate general laser operation features and tasks of our current range and laser selection guide.
These are loaded onto our website resources page and on YouTube as they become available. They are live every Wednesday at 10:30 am with 10 minutes of training and 5 mins of Q&A for the next few weeks until they are completed.
Coupled with this is our Laser Level Selection self help guide now on the homepage of the Imex website: www.imexlasers.com.au/what-laser-do-I-need
New and Renovation Home Grants – $25,000
Along with the whole industry Imex welcomes the Federal Government grant package which gives new home buyers a $25,000 leg up for their house start this year.
This is also extended to those doing major home renovations and they can get $25,000 for a $150k+ reno. To qualify most of these will be additions possibly including kitchen or bathroom renovations which typically require more variety of trades so this is very welcome.
Along with these is some State government initiatives with extra incentives; WA topping the list at $70,000! We look forward to this being a great incentive that will keep many of you busy well into 2021 and with new housing construction valued at $101b it is a major part of our economy.
